Our food safety training courses equip personnel with the knowledge required to maintain a high standard of food hygiene within the workplace.

These courses can be taught via the classroom or e-learning and include an examination at the end.

Food Safety Training Courses

Level 1 – Introduction

This qualification is aimed at anyone who works or is about to start work in the catering and hospitality industry.

Learning outcomes include:

  • hazards and controls associates with food in catering operations
  • contamination prevention
  • importance of temperature control
  • personal hygiene
  • cleaning/disinfection

This course can be conducted over a half-day in the classroom or via e-learning.

Level 2 – Foundation

This qualification is aimed at anyone working within the catering and hospitality industry.

Learning outcomes expand from level 1 and include:

  • food poisoning control
  • different food pests
  • the role of the food handler in keeping food safe

This course can be completed over 1 day in the classroom or via e-learning.

Level 3 – Intermediate / Supervising

Designed for anyone working in a supervisory role within the catering and hospitality industry.

Learning outcomes include:

  • microbiology
  • premises and equipment
  • food safety management
  • supervisory management
  • legislation

This course can be completed over 3 days in the classroom or via e-learning.

Level 4 – Advanced

Aimed at managers working within the catering and hospitality industry.

The course covers all aspects of food hygiene in depth and focuses on the importance of developing, implementing and monitoring food safety procedures.

This course can be completed over 5 days in the classroom or via e-learning.

Food Safety Audit and Inspection

This qualification is aimed at managers, supervisors and team leaders.

Anyone taking this course is, or may be, involved in practical auditing or inspection of food premises, including internal or third-party auditors.

This course can be completed over 1 day in the classroom or via e-learning.

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification

Aimed at those responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of HACCP systems.

Learning outcomes include:

  • How safety procedures, controls and monitoring are carried out and followed
  • Why they are necessary

This course can be completed over 1 day in the classroom or via e-learning.
